AG Barr is to launch premium Italian soft drinks brand San Benedetto in the UK, highlighting its low-calorie content.
With only 86 calories per 330ml can, the Prima Spremitura range of sparkling drinks is to be launched in the off- and on-trade in February in two flavours: Limone (lemon) and Clementina (orange). They contain less than 5g of sugar per 100ml.
Adrian Troy, marketing director at AG Barr, said: “San Benedetto contains 12% juice and is made with the first squeeze of the fruit which ensures only the highest-quality juice is used, delivering a completely unforgettable taste.”
Originally formulated by a small producer in Venice, San Benedetto has over 100 years of heritage and is active in over 100 countries. According to Canadean Soft Drinks Market Insights, it is the biggest all-Italian soft drinks group in Italy.
AG Barr’s brands include Irn-Bru, Rubicon fruit juice drinks, Strathmore Scottish spring water and Funkin purees and cocktail mixes as well as looking after Snapple still flavoured fruit drinks and Rockstar energy drink in the UK and the rest of Europe.
