More than 40 bars are set to take part in the first-ever Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend alongside a packed programme of events and pop-ups.
Running from October 6 to 8, it will see bars offer exclusive cocktails for £4 each to people wearing the festival’s wristbands which have gone on sale now.
They will also be able to register for free masterclasses and tastings, enjoy entry to exclusive pop-up spaces and events, gain free entry to top late-night venues and receive other benefits from participating bars.
Organiser Gary Anderson said: “Our vision is to bring the city to life with cocktails and create unique experiences through exciting brand collaborations and pop-up spaces. It’s all about tasting your way around the city, discovering new bars and flavours, and feeling like you’re part of something exciting.
“For me, cocktails epitomise catching-up with friends, either after work on a Friday night or getting dressed up at the weekend and hitting the town, and that’s what we are hoping to see during the weekend. We’re working with the best brands and bars so all ECW cocktails are made using premium spirits and are shaken, stirred and strained to perfection.”
Registration for masterclasses will open four weeks before the event, with priority registration given to those who have already bought a wristband.
ECW wristbands can be purchased online and be collected from the Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend Hub on George Street during the event. They are on sale now for £5 or two for £9.50 until June 30 at www.edinburghcocktailweekend.com. They will then be priced at £6 each.
