Bars and restaurants around London are set to celebrate one of Andalusia’s finest exports with a Sherry Trail to tie in with International Sherry Week.
Set out on a special map, 47 sherry hotspots around the capital are taking part, helping consumers to explore the different styles of sherry and sample it in cocktails.
Participating bars include Bar Pepito at King’s Cross, Drakes Tabanco in Fitzrovia, Gordon’s Wine Bar at Embankment and Sack in Shoreditch (pictured).
Restaurants include Barrafina, Boqueria, Camino, Capote Y Toros, Casa Manolo, Copita, Iberica, Jose, Salt Yard and Tapas Brindisa. The full list can be found at www.sherry.wine/media-trade/news/london-sherry-trail.
The London Sherry Trail is organised by Bespoke Drinks Media, the agency for Spain’s regulatory Consejo Regulador de los Vinos de Jerez y Manzanilla, promoting sherry in the UK.
The map is available at participating venues or can be downloaded at www.sherry.wine. Consumers are encouraged to share their experience on social media by using the #SherryLondon hashtag.
According to the guide: “From bone-dry fino and manzanilla sherry – which are best served cold – and fuller-flavoured dry amontillado and olorosos – perfect with meat dishes – to medium and sweet styles, sherry has a wine for every occasion. It’s also great in cocktails – just ask your bartender.”
The London Sherry Trail’s launch coincides with International Sherry Week which runs from Monday November 6 to Sunday November 12 and will see over 1,500 events around the world dedicated to sherry enjoyment.
