Hobbs of Henley, one of the longest established pleasure boating companies in the UK, has launched its own premium gin.
Mr Hobbs Henley Gin has been created at the Foxdenton distillery in Buckingham in Buckinghamshire, north of the company’s Henley-on-Thames home, and uses botanicals that grow locally.
It brings together popular botanicals such as angelica and marshmallow with added lemon peel, orris root and lime leaf oil for a modern twist. They are added after the distillation process is completed. It is bottled at 45% ABV.
The gin is the inspiration of Jonnie and Suzy Hobbs, the directors of Hobbs of Henley, and offers a combination of flavours designed to create a luxurious drink in keeping with the reputation and brand of Hobbs of Henley.
Suzy said: “Henley-on-Thames is one of the most iconic towns in England and with such a rich sporting and cultural history we wanted to create a gin worthy of the Hobbs of Henley name.
“The Hobbs family has lived and worked around Henley since Victorian time and we have crafted a gin that we believe will keep the Hobbs of Henley name on everyone’s lips for many years to come.
“Working with Foxdenton has been a really rewarding experience. The intricacies of the gin creation process and Foxdenton’s refusal to compromise on any aspect of the purity and clarity of our product has produced a remarkably flavoured and refreshing drink.”
Mr Hobbs gin is priced at £36 per bottle and is available from Hobbs of Henley and sold at selected bars, pubs and restaurants in the region.
