The trade event at Manchester Town Hall on May 1 will showcase more than 100 spirits, liqueurs and beers from over 30 companies.
Products new to the UK will include Peruvian rum Cartavio and Alipus Mezcal from Amathus, Langley’s No 8 Gin from Charter Brands, Takamaka Bay rums from the Seychelles and Juniper Vodka from Chase Distillery.
As well as Amathus, other returning exhibitors include Eaux De Vie, Speciality Brands, Emporia Brands, Sipsmith Independent Spirits, Chase Distillers, Morgenrot, Bramley & Gage, Cask Liquid Marketing, First Drinks, Funkin, Chilli Marketing, Ron Zacapa rum and West Brewery.
New company Bespoke Barware – a spin-off of design specialist Cheeky Tiki – will exhibit for the first time ahead of its official launch in London next week. It will showcase the variety of drinking vessels that have been produced for bars across the UK and overseas.
Presentations will include drinks historians Jared Brown and Anastatia Miller on Cuban cocktails, tequila ambassador Cleo Rocos on “The Art of Positive Drinking”, and Andy Campana of London bar The Loft on taking a scientific approach to creating the perfect cocktail.
Bar supplier MolecularMixology.co.uk will present new bartending techniques and also host the “wandering trolley” with ideas for bartenders to bring more impact to drinks.
The show also features the northern heat of the Brugal Rumble, an inter-city competition featuring bartenders from Manchester, Leeds, Chester and Liverpool.
It also sees the return of the Secret Bar – a bar concept, put together by the team behind Lounge Bohemia in east London, which will not be unveiled until the show.
Boutique Bar Show runs from 11am to 5.30pm. Coaches for visitors are being organised from Chester, Leeds and Liverpool.
Organisers have also confirmed dates for other shows in 2013, with London on September 24 and 25 and Edinburgh on November 6.
