Competition returns to challenge chefs to create London’s tastiest sliders

Chefs from London’s bars, pubs and restaurants are being challenged to come up with the tastiest sliders.

ETM Events has brought back its popular Slider Decider competition, calling for entries ahead of a contest on September 16 when the finalists will battle it out before a panel of judges.

They will be seeking to wrestle the champion’s title from Adam Rawson who has won for the past two years. His entry last year, Global Traveller, featured an aged Basque beef patty, truffle aioli, wild rocket, balsamic onions, pancetta and gorgonzola (pictured).

Chefs need to enter by August 4 at www.sliderdecider.co.uk.

The final at ETM Group’s The Botanist in Broadgate Circle in the City of London will also feature great drinks and live entertainment. As well as participating chefs selling their unique creations hot off the grills, The Botanist will be serving up a menu of croquette cones including mac ‘n’ cheese with truffle mayo, black pudding with HP Sauce, and shrimp and bacon with mustard aioli. Priced at £5 per cone, 50% of the proceeds will go towards ETM’s chosen charity, The Childhood Trust.

On top of this, the Slider Decider event will offer a range of cocktails, craft beers from ETM’s Long Arm Brewing Co and live music.
