Gabriel Boudier challenges bartenders to create new liqueur

Bartenders are being given the chance to create their own liqueur in this year’s Gabriel Boudier Wizard competition.

UK distributor Emporia Brands is calling for entries from across the country, with bartenders required to submit a recipe for their own liqueur and the perfect serve for it.

As well as a £1,000 prize, the winner could see their liqueur made at the Gabriel Boudier distillery in Dijon in France and launched in 2018 as part of its Creme & Bartender ranges. Kaffir Lime Leaf Liqueur, created by past winner Samuel Boulton (pictured), was launched last year.

There will be three regional heats in the north, south and Scotland. The winning “wizard” from each of these heats will be invited to the grand final at Gabriel Boudier in Dijon in January 2018.

The liqueur must be a flavour that is currently not commercially available in the UK market. Final submissions with both prototype liqueur and signature serve need to be completed by September 1, 2017. For full details about how to enter, visit www.emporiabrands.com/boudierwizard.
