The UK’s best on-trade drinks show is returning to Olympia on July 3 and 4, 2017. Here’s a sneak preview of what you can expect…
Europe’s largest on-trade drinks show, Imbibe Live, is the innovative and interactive annual exhibition for anyone who sources, buys or serves drinks in the licensed on-trade. Last year was the largest show to date with almost 12,000 drinks professionals in attendance, and 2017 is set to be even bigger.
Visitors to Imbibe Live have a chance to meet cutting-edge exhibitors, network with key industry contacts and improve their drinks knowledge with an unrivalled programme of masterclasses, tastings and theatre sessions.
The programme this year has been curated alongside the show ambassadors, Stuart McCluskey, Mitch Adams, Tom Oliver and Xavier Rousset MS.
Stuart McCluskey has worked in all aspects of the hospitality industry and has opened and continues to run numerous bars, restaurants, cafes, and drinks shops. Originally from Edinburgh, he opened the city’s multiple-award-winning The Bon Vivant in 2008, and has since opened The Devil’s Advocate in an old pump station in Edinburgh’s Old Town in 2013. He was also Imbibe’s very own Bar Personality of the Year in 2014.
Xavier Rousset MS is one of the country’s biggest restaurant names having set up wine-driven bistros Cabotte and Blandford Comptoir to great critical acclaim. He won the Hot Stuff category in Imbibe’s Personality of the Year Awards in 2011 and Restaurant Personality of the Year in 2013.
Mitch Adams is the operations director and beer and spirits buyer for Borough Wines & Beers and has worked in pubs for over 20 years. After running his own country pub, the Thatcher’s Arms, on the Essex and Suffolk border, Adams became involved in beer production while running highly successful London Brewing Co brewpub, The Bull, in Highgate in north London. He is involved in judging trade competitions and has recently just finished writing his first book, Brew, on beer and brewing.
Cider maker Tom Oliver has won numerous awards since he set up his orchard in 1998. He is an industry speaker on the topic and is currently working with restaurants, including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, on their food and cider pairing. He is highly influential in the industry and has even been called “the greatest cider maker in the world”.
