Latest flavour trends inspire new launch from Pipers Crisps

Pipers Crisps has expanded its range with a unique new variant, Jalapeno & Dill, driven by current trends towards heat and more globally influenced flavours.

The premium potato crisps are made with jalapeno peppers from Delicias in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua and aromatic dill, giving them a chilli and herbal aroma.

Available in 40g packs and 150g sharing bags, Pipers Crisps Delicias Jalapeno & Dill is the company’s first new product launch since 2016. They are gluten-free, wheat-free and barley-free and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The “grown-up” flavour is expected to be popular in bars, pubs and clubs, where they are said to perfectly complement an ice-cold bottled lager with fresh lime.

Marketing manager Katy Hamblin said: “We never launch new flavours just for the sake of it. We first look very carefully at food and flavour trends across the world and ask ourselves if we can meet those demands with a new line that tastes great, has strong provenance and complements our existing range.

“Jalapeno & Dill meets the current trend for heat and exciting flavour combinations that satisfy consumers’ desire for innovation. This is particularly relevant for 18- to 34-year-olds, the most significant snack-buying segment.

“The uniqueness of our new product, which meets global flavour trends as well as the strong demand for premium snacks, makes Jalapeno & Dill a must-have item for driving sales revenue and margin.

“Its striking and eye-catching packaging dovetails with the rest of the Pipers range for a stand-out display on retail shelves, foodservice counters or behind the bar in pubs and clubs.”

Pipers Crisps’ 10 flavours have won 37 Gold Great Taste Awards since 2007 and the entire Pipers Crisps range is gluten-free, wheat-free and barley-free. It also comprises Atlas Mountains Wild Thyme and Rosemary, Kirkby Malham Chorizo, Lye Cross Cheddar and Onion, Burrow Hill Cider Vinegar and Sea Salt, Karnataka Black Pepper and Sea Salt, Anglesey Sea Salt, Wissington Tomato, Biggleswade Sweet Chilli, and Unsalted.
