Bartenders and other members of the trade will have a chance to sample from more than 600 whiskies and attend special masterclasses at an exclusively industry-only day for The Whisky Show.

The annual event, organised by the team behind leading spirits wholesaler Speciality Drinks and retailer The Whisky Exchange, is back in London. As well as the main consumer-focused weekend of September 30 and October 1, the trade-only day will be on Monday October 2.

This year’s show not only offers members of the drinks trade the chance to taste hundreds of the world’s most sought-after whiskies, but also presents an opportunity to meet the makers and try more than 50 new releases all in one place. It will also include the final of Speciality Drinks’ bartender competition to find the next whisky cocktail classic.

New whiskies on show will include:

  • Latest releases such as Diageo’s annual Special Releases, Octomore 8.1 and Octomore 8.3, the new edition of Glenmorangie Astar and Ardbeg An Oa
  • Whiskies not available to buy until later this year such as Elijah Craig 18 year old, Teeling Brabazon II, Teeling Revival IV, Mackmyra Skordetid and Mackmyra Korsbar
  • The Whisky Show bottlings: the Art of Whisky range including Clynelish 21 Year Old, Glenrothes 27 year old and Miltonduff 17 Year Old
  • Whiskies of the future such as the inaugural release from Cotswolds Distillery and new-make spirit from London-based Bimber.

With more than 50 international brands and 74 Scottish distilleries exhibiting, it is the only opportunity of its kind for buyers, distributors, bartenders and writers to taste such a depth and breadth of whiskies from around the world.

It runs from 11am to 5pm at Old Billingsgate. The trade day is free to attend but pre-registration is essential at www.whiskyshow.com/trade.
