A tequila co-founded by top DJ Paul Oakenfold is being launched by its owners in the UK after its success in the USA.
Perfectomundo Tequila is made at Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, one of the oldest distilleries in the town of Tequila, under the Cabo family including president Richard Cabo who has been in the industry for over 50 years.
There are three expressions, all 100% agave in 70cl bottles at 40% ABV: a blanco, a reposado which is aged for 11-and-a-half months in new white oak pippin barrels, and an añejo which is a blend of spirit aged for three-and-a-half years in charred French oak, charred American oak and aged oak ex-bourbon casks. The spirit is made through column distillation.
One of its investors and partners is world-renowned music producer and DJ Paul Oakenfold who acts as global brand ambassador. Its positioning has led to it being featured at celebrity parties and other VIP events in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami.
In the UK, it will carry premium pricing in retail, with the blanco recommended at £29, the reposado at £36 and the añejo at £58, which is promoted for sipping.
Since its launch in the US over a year ago, Perfectomundo is already being stocked in leading clubs, restaurants and bars in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami including SBE venues, Live Nation venues and The Abbey.
Stockists in the UK include Master of Malt.
