Ready-made mixes for frozen cocktails launched into on-trade

A premium range of ready-made mixes for frozen cocktails has been launched into the on-trade by drinks specialist Vimto Out of Home.

The new brand, called Frÿst (pronounced “freest”), offers popular cocktails, such as a Blue Lagoon, Strawberry Daiquiri and Mojito, for mixing with a spirit and dispensing from a slushy-style machine.

Vimto Out of Home, which specialises in supplying dispensed soft drinks such as Coca-Cola, Irn Bru and Ocean Spray, has introduced the frozen cocktails because of demand from pubs and bars.

Quoting CGA Strategy’s 2016 Mixed Drinks Report, Vimto Out of Home’s senior customer marketing manager Ed Jones said: “A massive 78% of bars now serve cocktails – this sector is booming and shows no sign of slowing.

“In addition, we know experience and atmosphere is one of the top factors when deciding on where to go out. Frÿst provides a great opportunity to capitalise on these trends – and it’s super easy to create. Simply pour the base spirit, add the frozen mix and serve.”

Vimto Out of Home has identified that frozen cocktails are proving popular with bar operators as margins are high and they ensure consistency of cocktail serve, particularly important in busy locations.
