Stonegate Pub Company has responded to rising demand for vegan dishes as part of its new food and drink menu at its Slug & Lettuce bars.
With the number of vegans in Britain rising by 360% over the past 10 years, the latest menu has expanded its vegan dishes ranging from the Vegan’s Full English to the Crispy Margherita Arancini and Falafel Bites.
New to the winter menu (for meat eaters) is the Breakfast Sharer – a combination of bacon sliders, omelette soldiers, honey-glazed pork sausages, barbecue beans and sautéed mushrooms, topped with avocado.
Guests also have the option to make their breakfast a tipsy one by adding two drinks for £20 or a Cîroc Bloody Mary or Mimosa for just £3.45.
The upgraded Sweet & Petite section features a selection of three plates, from £7, including Sticky Dicky Bites, Sour Cherry and Pistachio Bites and Mini Chocolate-Orange Fondants.
Targeting Christmas shoppers, the Cocktails and Cakes offer, from £14 per person, features a selection of sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, bite-sized desserts, and their choice of any cocktail. Guests can opt for the traditional British version or upgrade with a glass of prosecco.
The Small Plates section has been upgraded once more, with customers able to share them round at a cost of £16 for five dishes. The £7 burger and drink offer remains, with the addition of the premium Wagyu Burger. Back by popular demand is an offer on lunch dishes priced from £5, available from Monday to Friday.
The ever-extensive drinks menu has also been updated. The new Chocolate Ben-o provides the perfect taste of childhood with a sweet mix of Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, Licor 43 liqueur and Marie Brizard Cacao Blanco liqueur, topped with chocolate sprinkles.
For something more refreshing, the Cherry St Clements is a fruity mix of Cointreau, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, morello cherry puree, orange juice and lemonade.
Also new to the menu is Gordon’s Pink Spritz: a sparkling mix of Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin and lemonade, topped with Gancia Prosecco.
Samantha Maynard, senior marketing manager for Slug & Lettuce, said: “With each new menu, we work hard to ensure that all of customers will find something that they enjoy eating and drinking.
“On top of that, we’re always looking at what our existing and potential customers would be looking for and ensuring we cater for their needs.
“We have the additions of some fantastic vegan dishes available along with improved deals throughout the week and are confident that our offering will ensure our position as the go-to brand on the high-street.”
