A new drinks event takes place in London this week, showcasing boutique spirits, craft beers and artisanal wine alongside fine food producers.
Taking place on Friday October 28 and Saturday October 29 at the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, it will feature 150 premium, hard-to-find wines, beers, spirits and fine foods.
The event will be held over four time slots, with the first from midday to 4.30pm on Friday exclusively for the drinks industry and media, free of charge. The remaining three are for consumers, with tickets priced from £25.
Brands and producers featured will include Brighton Gin, Curio Spirits, East London Liquor Company, Green Island Rum, Skin Gin, Wild Card Brewery, Fordham & Dominion, Knightor Vermouth, London Cru, Red Squirrel, New York Wines, Caviar Artisan and Luss Smokehouse. Event partners are Wenlock Spring and Riedel.
Sampling will be free, with an opportunity to buy long drinks, bottles and food from the stands as well as mixed cases for home delivery.
The Epicurean has appointed three “ambassadors” who will host talks and be on hand to assist visitors with drinks-related enquiries. The spirits ambassador is Alice Lascelles, spirits and cocktail expert and author of Ten Cocktails: The Art of Convivial Drinking.
The wine ambassador is BBC Food & Drink wine expert Joe Wadsack, while Sophie Atherton, the UKs first female beer sommelier, will officiate as beer ambassador.
