Mother’s ruin: cocktails to toast mum on Mother’s Day

Halewood Wines & Spirits has come up with some cocktail ideas for Mother’s Day using its brands including Liverpool Rose Petal Gin, Whitley Neill Rhubarb & Ginger Gin and and Marylebone Gin.

Mother’s Sage Advice (pictured top)
50ml Whitley Neill Rhubarb & Ginger Gin
3 lime wedges
3 sage leaves
50ml Cloudy apple juice
50ml Ginger ale
Add the lime wedges and sage leaves to the base of a highball or collins glass and gently press with a muddler. Add cubed ice and all the other ingredients. Stir well and garnish with sage leaves.

Chocolate Rose Martini

Chocolate Rose Martini
50ml Liverpool Rose Petal Gin
25ml Liquid chocolate
25ml Whole milk
Shake all ingredients very hard with ice then double stain into the chilled martini glass. Garnish with a rose petal floated on the surface of the drink. For a simpler method, add all ingredients into a rocks glass over cubed ice and stir thoroughly.

Rhubarb & White Chocolate

Rhubarb & White Chocolate Rocks
50ml JJ Whitley Rhubarb Vodka
50ml Whole milk
10ml Sugar syrup
2tbsp White drinking chocolate powder
Add all ingredients into a shaker and shake hard until the chocolate powder is fully dissolved. Strain over fresh cubed ice in a large wine glass and garnish with white chocolate shavings.

Tarragon Gin Frizante

Tarragon Gin Frizanté
50ml Marylebone Gin
3 pink grapefruit slices
4 tarragon leaves
20ml Lemon juice
15ml Sugar syrup
70ml Soda water
Add all ingredients except the soda to the base of a highball or collins glass and press with a muddler. Fill the glass with cubed ice and top with the soda. Stir and garnish with a grapefruit slice.
