New classic dishes and more burgers and breakfasts feature on the new food menu introduced across the country at Yates bars alongside the return of historic drink, The Blob.
With more than 50 sites, the bars – part of Stonegate Pub Company – are building up their reputation as a place for all-day dining at good-value prices.
Two classics, Cornish Pasty and Cheese and Potato Pie, have been added to the chain’s Legends section, along with an All Day Breakfast Pie that closes all the breakfast staples within a pastry case. For hungry diners, the new Even Bigger Breakfast is available on the revamped Big Plates section.
Yates has added a selection of “reinvented” burgers such as the Bombay Burger (pictured top) which sandwiches a mango chutney-topped southern fried chicken fillet between two mini naan breads, topped with a chicken tikka bite alongside poppadoms, chips and curry sauce.
The Phoenix Chicken Burger tops a southern fried chicken fillet with melted cheese, a hash brown and jalapeños.
Another new addition is the New York City-style NY Deli Burger, which tops a 6oz beef burger with pulled pastrami beef, cheese, gherkins and American mustard.
For vegetarians and those looking for a lighter bite, new dishes includes Vegetable Coconut Curry and Mexican Pasta Bake.
New desserts (pictured below) include the Chocolate Orange Marble Cake, Cookie Crumb Profiteroles and Treacle Tart.
The menu also features the permanent return of The Blob, which was created at the pubs back in the 19th century when they were known as Yates Wine Lodge. It consists of sweet Australian wine, brandy, fortified wine, sugar, lemon and hot water.
Alex Botting, marketing manager at Yates, said: “With this new menu, we’ve created twists on customer favourites to give them something new and exciting to tuck into.
“Giving new items ‘legends’ status and adding even more dishes to some of our most popular sections, we’re sure customers will be pleased with the range on offer at prices that can’t be beaten.”
