Camp and Furnace in Liverpool has taken cocktail shaking to a new level – it has created a drink that is mixed by a bartender “free running” round the venue.
The cocktail, called The Free Runner, is made to order by Richie Squires, who straps the cocktail in a holster to his body and runs from behind the bar.
As demonstrated by the bar’s promotional video, this means he does back flips from containers and walks on the warehouse space’s beams at heights of up to 30 feet above the floor.
The recipe, based on a classic Aviation, is made with Aviation Gin, mixed with crème de violette, maraschino liqueur, fresh lemon juice and sugar syrup. The drink is available every Friday at the Greenland Street venue.
Free running is an acrobatic and athletic discipline, dating back to 2003 and founded by Sébastien Foucan.
