The Salcombe Distilling Company has just launched a new gin, which has been hand distilled in South Devon.
Salcombe Gin is made using 13 carefully selected botanicals distilled in 60 litre copper stills with English wheat spirit and blended with pure Dartmoor water.
Co-founders Howard Davies and Angus Lugsdin came up with the idea to produce a new gin when they were teaching sailing in Salcombe over 20 years ago.
“Our dream was to produce the finest white spirit in the world here in one of the UK’s most beautiful coastal towns, Salcombe,” said Howard. “It’s taken a great deal of energy and drive to get to this position and we are delighted to now be introducing Salcombe Gin to all.”
Salcombe gin should be served on its own over ice or with a premium tonic water accompanied by a slice of ruby red grapefruit to complement the rich and warm citrus notes. It can also be used to make a dry martini with a twist of red grapefruit peel.
