ABK6 Cognac VSOP Grand Cru and Gilpin’s Westmorland Extra Dry Gin were among winners in this year’s World Drinks Awards.
Run by TheDrinksReport.com, the awards celebrate the best-tasting spirits from around the globe as well as the best packaging designs.
They are judged by an independent tasting panel drawn from the best drinks journalists and retailers across the world, with industry representatives made up of master blenders, distillers and brand ambassadors included in the judging of the final round.
In sub-categories, winners included Professor Cornelius Ampleforth Bathtub Gin for best compound gin, Darnley’s View Spiced Gin for best contemporary gin, Pusser’s Rum Original Admiralty Rum at Issue Strength for best overproof rum, The Real McCoy Rum Aged 3 Years for best white rum, and Viche Pitia Lemon and Milk for best flavoured vodka.
The packaging design category is judged by leading brand design creatives and packaging technology experts. The world’s best design for a rum went to La Hechicera Fine Aged Rum from Colombia, which was designed by Brandhouse.
