Adnams reveals new look and ABV for vodka and gin

adnams vodka gin new look

Suffolk brewer and distiller Adnams has revealed updated bottle designs and lower ABV for its Longshore Triple Malt Vodka and First Rate Triple Malt Dry Gin.

Created by CookChick Design, the new designs reflect the spirits’ coastal provenance, featuring seaside icons including seagulls and sailing boats. The addition of a glass closure, which is clicked off rather than twisted, is designed to enhance the sleek finish.

The bottles also feature copper foil accents to replicate the colour of the stills the spirits are produced in and a nod to the distillery’s name, Adnams Copper House Distillery, which was inspired by the premises’ former use, containing the brewery wort coppers.

The high-quality new look is designed to convey the 70cl bottles’ premium contents. Adnams produces all of its spirits from grain to glass, making the spirits with the beer wash created in the brewery on the same site, which is produced from high-quality locally sourced malted wheat, barley and oats.

As well as a new design, the recipes of the two spirits have also received a slight refresh so that both Longshore Vodka and First Rate Gin have a new ABV of 45%, reduced from 48%.

Adnams marketing director Emma Hibbert said: “Adnams spirits continue to be a terrific success story. Highlights definitely include winning the titles of ‘World’s Best Vodka’ for Longshore Vodka in 2014 and ‘World’s Best Gin’ for Copper House Dry Gin in 2013 from the IWSC as recognition for the care we put into production.

“We have been distilling for almost seven years and the popularity of our spirit range goes from strength to strength, with spirit sales growing by a remarkable 66% last year following investment in the distillery.

“Therefore it made sense to also invest in updating the designs for longstanding, popular spirits, Longshore Vodka and First Rate Gin.

“We have already updated the designs for Copper House Dry Gin and East Coast Vodka and have seen a hugely positive response from customers, with great feedback and increased sales.

“The new vibrant and refreshing designs really reflect Adnams’ modern, unique approach to distilling and business as a whole. And, most importantly, when grouped together the new bottles really standout on shelf and in bar.”
