Premium bar and restaurant The Alchemist is recruiting more than 75 full- and part-time jobs for its new site in Oxford.

After a £1.5million investment, the new venue will open its doors to the public in November 2017. Located in the new Westgate shopping centre, it will span over 4,600 square feet.

Over 90% of the roles will be filled by new recruits to the company plus internal promotions that demonstrate the company’s efforts to provide a career path for its team members.

Anyone interested in a role is invited to recruitment days on September 26 and 27, with positions available across management, kitchen and front of house.

Creating new jobs and supporting communities is at The Alchemist’s core, and team members are encouraged to take part in its “Currency of Kindness” initiative which allows them to donate their time to local causes during working hours while still being paid.

These positions in Oxford come shortly after openings in Chester and Salford’s MediaCityUK which have generated more than 120 jobs in the last three months alone. The Alchemist is well-known for its theatrical drinks and delicious food but also offers internal progression, graduate schemes and providing fantastic career paths for all of its teams. The Alchemist was included in 2017’s Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, commented: “We are delighted to be opening our 12th venue in the beautiful city of Oxford as we continue our busy acquisition drive, which has seen three openings over the last three months.

“People are at our core, which is why we offer extensive training, genuine care and clear progression for everyone who works with us.

“Oxford is a fantastic city full of spirit, intrigue and history, with an unrivalled food and drink scene. Oxford is enjoying a real renaissance and we can’t wait to be a part of this.”

Interviews for The Alchemist are being held on September 26 and 27 at The Oxford Union, Frewin Court, Oxford, OX1 3JB. Email to register your interest.
