Two customers at The Alchemist in Leeds won a £2,000 bottle of Rémy Martin Louis XIII cognac as a prize for ordering the bar’s 1,000,000th cocktail.

After serving an average of 1.3 cocktails per minute since opening in March 2013, the restaurant and bar in Trinity Leeds offered the prize of a bottle to share with friends in a promotion running in January.

The one-millionth cocktail was ordered on Saturday night (January 30) by Carl and Natalie Knowles from Leeds who were awarded the prize. They had ordered The Alchemist’s signature colour-changing Kir Royale made with Ketel One vodka, prosecco and flavour drops.

Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist group, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have reached this milestone, and we felt that it was certainly worth celebrating with our loyal and discerning patrons.

“Carl and Natalie were delighted with their extra-special cognac gift – they were certainly the most popular people in the bar that night. We look forward to serving up another million cocktails.”
