A new range of intensely flavoured liqueurs has been launched in the UK created by a team led by a former sales director for Kopparberg ciders.
Fantastical Flavours, which comes in three flavours at 15% ABV, has been inspired by the “art of alchemy” and the way that bartenders infuse alcohol with sweets, fruits and spices.
The new brand is the brainchild of Daryl Moss, who was a sales director at Cider of Sweden as it built Kopparberg into a leading range of fruit-flavoured ciders. Last year, he launched Freddies Fruit Lager into the off-trade.
His company, The Alchemy Group, is initially launching:
- Very Cherry, full of cherry fruit flavours which can be enjoyed neat over ice or mixed with cola to make a “grown-up Cherry Coke”
- Pear Drop, providing classic sweet shop flavours, suitable for mixing with lemonade
- Likörmeister, a fiery and full-flavoured blend of herbs and spices.
Daryl said: “The team behind Fantastical Flavours are alchemy enthusiasts so we wanted to take that passion and create an intensely-flavoured, affordable drink fit for the modern-day consumer and that also packs a punch.
“Looking into the history of this old tradition was extremely informative when it came to developing the product and from our research into current trends and consumer demand we found that there is a gap in the market for what we wanted to do.
“We believe people want a great-tasting, affordable drinks range that offers the consumer delicious flavours without compromising on price – that’s our message to the market.”
Another flavour, Big Apple, has also been developed but is not part of the initial launch. For supporting the first three flavours, consumer marketing will be based around the concept of a “mystical realm” of alchemy.
“Being involved in the UK launch of Kopparberg, and more recently Freddies Fruit Lager, has meant that we have a vast amount of experience and knowledge when it comes to bringing together premium alcohol and exceptional flavours,” Daryl added.
