Alcohol-free Abstinence Bar prepares to launch in Chelmsford

Abstinence Bar

An independent alcohol-free bar, restaurant and live entertainment venue is set to open in Chelmsford, Essex in December.

Claiming to be the first of its kind in the area, Abstinence Bar & Restaurant prides itself on offering “a safe, fun, vibrant yet friendly atmosphere without the necessity of alcohol”.

The project has been in the pipeline for two years by owner Wendy Sillett. She said: “There are plenty of reasons people decide not to drink alcohol. Maybe it’s a lifestyle choice, healthy way of life, religion or they just do not like effect of alcohol.”

The venue is located in Dukes Walk, opposite the Civic Theatre, just a few minutes walk from the train station. Plenty of parking will be available nearby for its non-drinking customers.

From the early morning through ’til late’, Abstinence will serve lunch and evening meals, with a menu to cater for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, DJs will entertain sober guests with a range of music for all customers from the 80’s through to present day. The bar will also offer some high-end live entertainment to include professional comedy nights, jazz evenings, and live PA’s, while working alongside their sober family Sober Events UK and Sober is Fun.

An official launch date will be announced soon on Abstinence Bar & Restaurant’s social media pages.
