ALMR launches awards for late-night sector

cafe de parisNominations are being sought for new awards for the UK’s late-night bar and club sector, organised by the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR).

The “Dusk ‘Til Dawn” awards event will take place at the Café de Paris (pictured) in London on June 30.

It follows the ALMR merging with BEDA, formerly Noctis, the trade body for the late-night sector, last year.

Categories include most imaginative drinks list, service standards and staff development, entertainment, marketing and food.

Visit http://almr.wufoo.com/forms/dusk-til-dawn/ to nominate. The deadline for nominations is May 3.

For places at the event, email events@almr.org.uk or call 020 8579 2080.

The six categories are:

1. The Culinary, awarded to the creator of the finest late-night snacks, from something for the most discerning taste buds to a simple burger.
2. The Bacchus, which goes to the most imaginative drinks list, from craft ale to cocktails to chardonnay, and the most spectacularly presented.
3. Arrivals and Departures, for the best delivery of a red carpet greeting and a safe taxi home – total hospitality, total care.
4. Skills and Smiles, for excellence in service standards, knowledge and staff development.
5. Entertainment, for the venue putting on the best show and providing the “wow factor”.
6. Full House, for innovative and effective marketing in any dimension that always fills the venue.
