Created for drinkers seeking authentic flavours and a lower sugar content, Aluna Coconut is a blend of premium rums from Guatemala and the Caribbean.
With an ABV of 35% and a fraction of the sugar found in competitor brands, Aluna Coconut brings the flavour of coconut to a variety of drinks such as the Aluna Colada, Aluna and Apple and Aluna Espresso Martini, as well as being delicious on its own with coconut water ice cubes.
The high altitude Guatemalan rum in Aluna Coconut is made with virgin sugar cane honey which removes the need for the large quantities of sugar found in other coconut rums. A unique strain of yeast extracted from pineapple is used to ferment the sugar cane honey, slowly releasing floral, fruit aromas into the rum which is then lightly aged in oak.
Selected Caribbean rums add firmer, classic rum notes and a little heat, giving balance and structure to the blend while lightly toasted natural coconut provides a new flavour dimension. After marrying, the rum is cut with organic coconut water for a smooth and clean finish.
On shelf and online with Harvey Nichols in April, Aluna Coconut will be rolling out to stores and on-trade outlets throughout the UK over the summer.
