Distribution of AquaRiva tequilas in the UK is set to grow through a new partnership between their founder Cleo Rocos and Catalyst Brands.

Cleo, who has championed tequila alongside her TV career, said she was “beyond throbbingly happy” with the new deal to develop and distribute the entire range.

Launched in the UK in 2012, AquaRiva comprises two Premium Tequilas – a Blanco and a Reposado aged for three to six months in American oak whiskey barrels – and the AquaRiva handmade Premium Reposado which is aged for nine months. Catalyst Brands will also take over distribution of AquaRiva Organic agave syrup.

Cleo said: “Finding the right distribution partner is not easy and I am beyond throbbingly happy to be working with Catalyst Brands. They will develop and expand the profile and distribution of the AquaRiva range to an infinitely wider audience. They are quite simply the best in the business.”

The tequilas are made with eight-year-old 100% Blue Weber agave and pure spring water from the volcanic highlands of Jalisco in Mexico. They were developed by Cleo with experienced master blender Carlos Perez in Mexico.

Cleo (pictured) added: “I have invested everything into creating the very best premium tequila for everyone to enjoy. Over the past two years I have worked passionately to increase distribution. Catalyst Brands will now be able to take it to a whole new level so that everyone in the UK will be able to enjoy AquaRiva.”

Mike Miller, marketing director at Catalyst Brands, said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Cleo Rocos on the AquaRiva portfolio. These premium tequilas and agave syrup are examples of some of the finest quality products within the category, and represent a fantastic addition to the evolving Catalyst Brands portfolio. We look forward to accelerating the growth of the AquaRiva brand in the UK market.”

Catalyst Brands, a division of on-trade supplier Matthew Clark Wholesale, continues to expand its portfolio of spirits, beers and wines. From March 1, it will take on UK distribution of J&B Rare whisky, Venezuelan rum Pampero and Jeremiah Weed Cider Brews on behalf of Diageo.
