A vodka infused with chipotle chillis grown in Scotland has been launched by the team behind Arbikie Vodka to mark the brand’s first birthday.
Arbikie Chilli Vodka captures the earthy smokiness of the chipotle, sourced from Scotland’s first chilli farm, Chillilicious, in Fife. It is recommended for a Bloody Mary or for twists such as a Beetroot Bloody Mary.
It follows the launch in November last year of Arbikie potato vodka, followed in July by Kirsty’s Gin, named after its master distiller Kirsty Black.
The Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery in Angus has also filled its first casks for ageing a single malt whisky. It is continuing its “farm to bottle” ethos, using grain grown on the estate to make the whisky. It will make it Scotland’s first single estate distillery producing both white and dark spirits.
Operations director John Stirling said: “It’s been a great year for Arbikie. Having launched Scotland’s first potato vodka, a gin, whisky in cask and now our new chilli vodka. We’ve been busy to say the least.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us from consumers to industry. We wouldn’t have got this far without their support for which we are very grateful. We’ve got some exciting plans for the next year and we hope to continue our growth in the UK as well as overseas.”
