Bartender wins trip to Brazil with Leblon cachaça


Miracle Redeemer Archer StreetBenji Purslow from London bar Archer Street has won a competition for Leblon cachaça with a cocktail inspired by the flavours of Brazil.

Benji, who is bar manager of the Soho bar, created The Miracle Redeemer, served with a Miracle Fruit sweet which enhances and alters the flavours from the drink.

The drink itself is made with Leblon infused with açai berries and with Campari infused with goji berries plus fresh passion fruit juice and lime juice.

Run to tie in with the build-up to the World Cup in Brazil this summer, it offered the prize of a trip to Brazil and tickets to a World Cup game.

Benji has worked in the industry for four years, including just under one year at Archer Street. He was previously bar manager of Ziloufs in Islington, north London.

He has previously won the Jack Daniel’s Sharer Cocktail competition in 2011, winning a trip to Nashville, and a Flor de Caña competition, earning himself a trip to Nicaragua.

The Miracle Redeemer will be available at Archer Street’s new Brazilian-inspired basement bar, Barzinho, which will feature music and décor from the south American country.
