Stauning KAOS Barrels Gets Turned Into Wood Chips For This Summer’s BBQ Season
Stauning Whisky, the premium spirit from Jutland, Denmark, launches wood chips made from barrels which its famous triple malt KAOS whisky was aged in for 2022’s BBQ season. The whisky-infused wood chips add subtle smoky flavour to all BBQ favourites and can be used on both gas and charcoal grills. Using these old casks, Stauning is reducing the waste of unusable barrels by giving them a new lease of life to create delectable BBQ feasts which perfectly complement a glass of its award-winning whisky on long summer nights.
Stauning Kaos Triple Malt Whisky
A mashup of Stauning malted Rye and smoked and non-smoked Single Malt whiskies, this is a complex and versatile spirit. Kaos takes its name from Danish history, when Thorvald Stauning used the phrase “Stauning or Chaos” to win re-election as Prime Minister in 1935. Rounded and sweet to start with, Kaos has notes of pear, sweet apple, quince jam and hazelnut, leading to dusty, smoky spices and a zesty, peppery finish.
