And announcing their new distribution partnership with premium spirits distributer Mangrove UK.
The newest addition to the Balcones portfolio, Texas Pot Still Bourbon will be available in the UK from Master of Malt, Whisky Exchange, The Drinkshop and in a selection of independent specialist wines and spirits merchants. Big flavours have always been the cornerstone of Balcones’ prized Texas whiskies, and Texas Pot Still Bourbon is no exception. Made grain-to-glass using a traditional pot still distillation ensures a rich and viscous spirit that stands up to aging in new charred oak without losing its essence. Each dram is full of character and body, with an aromatic entry and soft finish, for an approachable yet memorable experience.
Balcones are well known as The Original Texas Whisky after their Baby Blue became the first whisky sold in Texas following prohibition. Balcones are among the largest whisky distilleries in their home state. Their popular expressions include Texas Single Malt, Texas Rye 100 and Baby Blue, which is made from blue corn grown in Texas. Their Texas Single Malt is distilled from locally grown Scottish Golden Promise malted barley.
Jon Dillon, Vice President of Finance and Operations, from Balcones said:
“We have experienced success in introducing our whiskies to the UK market, with great feedback from the British public. We are excited to expand our offering with the addition of Texas Pot Still Bourbon, which has been very popular in Texas and across the US. We expect our new distribution partnership with Mangrove UK will expand our on and off trade opportunities in the UK and build brand awareness for Balcones.”
Nick Gillett, MD at Mangrove UK added:
“I’ve followed the story of Balcones for some time. They produce an outstanding variety of products and we are very excited to have them join the portfolio. I know the discerning whisky drinkers in the UK will relish the chance to expand their collections and I predict the on-trade will enjoy working with these rich and complex liquids.”
