Balblair announces second release of 1999 Vintage

Balblair 1999

The second release of the 1999 Vintage from Balblair Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been announced for the end of June.

Balblair 1999 replaces the award-winning second release of the 1997 Vintage, which took the core collection from three to four expressions when it was introduced.

Selected by Balblair distillery manager John MacDonald, the 1999 vintage has been matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish oak ex-sherry butts.

This choice of wood imparts the signature Balblair aromas of honey and green apples as well as notes of rich, fruity Christmas cake with a hint of spice, citrus fruits and vanilla.

On the palate it is full-bodied, sweet and spicy in character, with hints of honey, vanilla and leather. The finish is warm, smooth and long-lasting. It is copper in appearance with flecks of sparkling bronze.

The 1999 Vintage will be presented in a premium box in line with the rest of the Balblair collection available in this luxury format.

Gillian Gibson, Balblair global brand manager, said: “We are excited to be launching the second release of the 1999 Vintage. We are now able to offer consumers a core range of four Balblair expressions all in premium opening packaging. With hints of refreshing green apple on the tongue, it is the perfect whisky to enjoy over the summer months.”

In retail, it is recommended for sale at £60.
