Bar 6 Group to open new Near & Far venue in Camden

Bar 6 Group has announced it is to launch a new flagship Near & Far bar in Camden, bringing the company’s family of venues up to five.

The new bar, located opposite The Stables and iconic music venue Roundhouse, will be set over four floors holding 180 guests, offering a lounge area, two bars and a covered roof terrace.

Pastel hues, lush greens, desert shades, palm trees and cacti will fill the interior, which has been created by new design agency Power Studios.

The cocktail menu is inspired by world travels, and will feature some favourites from Near & Far’s Peckham and Angel sites, along with a number of exclusive signature creations. A selection of non-alcoholic tipples, from mocktails to booze-free pale ales, will also be available.

Alex Hutton’s Elote will be taking over the kitchen, offering high-end Mexican street food, including dishes such as Tamarind Dressed Crab Tostados and Braised Beef & Chipotle Tacos. The menu features a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, and everything on the menu is gluten free.

Alongside weekly entertainment, including DJs playing the brand’s signature style of Latin and Balearic house and laid-back disco, the venue will also offer a selection of interactive events including ArtNight painting parties and cocktail masterclasses.

Sarah Holgate, creative director of Bar 6 Group, said: “We cannot wait to launch our flagship Near & Far bar in Camden. Starting from a totally outdoor site in the middle of a roundabout, now moving on to our third Near & Far location feels like a dream.

“We’ll have the space and flexibility to give Camden a new injection of energy providing casual drinkers and diners with a unique experience like no other in the area.”

Alex Hutton, head chef and owner of Elote, added: “We are so excited to be collaborating with Near & Far in their flagship site. Our style of Mexican food fits perfectly with the Californian vibe of the bar and of course, the cocktails. We’re looking forward to serving up dishes for all seasons and occasions.”
