An app that allows people to search for the best nearby bars and clubs has been extended to be useable on the Apple Watch.

DrinkAdvisor, launched 18 months ago, features 10,000 bars and clubs in 210 cities across 70 countries including the UK, with users able to use it share their favourite places and drinks.

As well as being available on smartphones with iOS 8.0 and above, it now comes as a companion app for Apple Watch, the wrist-worn version of an iPhone that went on sale in the UK in June.

The Apple Watch version of the DrinkAdvisor app offers the same features, such as search filters for categories such as karaoke, outdoor terraces, cocktails, hookah or jazz.

Bars and clubs can also use the app to provide news and offers to people who have “liked” their venue. It also features recipes for over 170 cocktails.
