Bar collaborates with spice specialist on wings menu

Old Bengal Bar World of Zing wings

Old Bengal Bar in the City of London has collaborated with spice specialist World of Zing to create an internationally inspired chicken wings menu.

Available until November 18, the wings come with bespoke spice blends created by World of Zing’s “flavour guru”, Pritesh Mody, such as all-American Sweet & Smoky BBQ, Indonesian Satay and Indian Kashmiri Masala.

They are matched by cocktails created by bar manager James Ray Charles Davies such as a sweet and refreshing East India G&T, made with Tanqueray No Ten gin and homemade tonic syrup infused with dandelion and burdock, to balance the fiery chilli of the Kashmiri Masala wings.

To add a little heat to the Sweet & Smoky BBQ wings, The Bengali Mexican combines Herradura tequila, grapefruit, Cointreau and chilli.

To cool the heat of the Indonesian Satay wings, the Bloody Delicious is an infusion of Bengali Rangpur lime Tanqueray gin, blood orange liqueur and fresh cherries plus an elderflower tonic top.

Pritesh said: “The opportunity to add to the Old Bengal Bar’s already rich heritage around spice was impossible to turn down. Everyone loves chicken wings and they provide the perfect vessel for showcasing World of Zing’s aromatic spice blends, so I’m sure that diners will love the #WorldofWings menu.”

Old Bengal Bar in New Street in the Devonshire Square development is offering 12 wings for £12. The bar is part of the Old Bengal Warehouse which was created by D&D London in a complex of buildings dating back to 1771 and once used by the East India Company to store spices, tea, cigars and port.
