Be At One, Urban Leisure Group and Mothership Group are among bar and pub operators shortlisted for this year’s Best Employers in Hospitality Awards for England & Wales.

Run by leading online job-board Caterer.com, it recognises the achievements of companies operating hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars.

The awards are not judged by a panel but completely independently by the employees of the companies who enter via an online survey provided by Purple Cubed.

In the category for best medium-sized pub or bar employer, Hampshire pub operator Ideal Collection and Be At One cocktail bars in London and Reading are up against Urban Leisure Group which runs London bars such as Graphic, Central & Co and The Alice House (pictured).

Shortlisted for the award for best small pub or bar employer are Warwickshire’s CD Pub Co, London-based Jolly Fine Pubs and Mothership Group, whose venues include the Queen of Hoxton, The Book Club and Stories in east London.

In the category of best large pub or bar employer, the shortlist features Geronimo Inns, Young’s and Peach Pub Company.

In the restaurant categories, the shortlist includes Dishoom, The Roof Gardens, Mash, Benares and The Breakfast Club, which operates London cocktail bars The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town and The King of Ladies Man.

Hotels shortlisted for different awards include The Dorchester and 45 Park Lane, One Aldwych and The Ampersand, all in London.

The winners, including a top award of best employer in hospitality, will be announced on September 30 at a ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel, London, along with the list of the Top 50 Best Employers in Hospitality.

“The most talented candidates naturally want to work for the best employers and these awards allow hospitality companies to showcase what sets them apart.

“The number of entries has increased year on year, and for the 2013 Awards nearly 6,000 employees have completed the surveys, which is incredible.”
