Pan-Asian bar and restaurant Lotus Lounge in Yarm in north-east England has invested in new technology to increase footfall and encourage repeat business.

It has been working with Challenger TEC, based in Stockton-on-Tees, to develop a marketing app that incentivises and builds loyalty among customers.

The “My Venue” app allows the venue to provide a very quick and targeted interaction with customers, with personalised notifications to the customer’s phone of any offers, special events, new menus and time-limited vouchers.

Howard Egglestone, owner of Lotus Lounge, said he was delighted with the new app. “It really ticks all the boxes for us. It does everything we want for a modern bar and restaurant.”

Lotus Lounge has been open two years and has a wide-ranging clientele, including technology-savvy customers. Howard said: “The app bolts well into our system and the way we do social media. It will be a great tool for staff-customer interaction and lets us remain in control of any offers or messages we want to target customers with.”

Howard is so pleased with the new app that he is working with Challenger TEC to develop another app-driven marketing product for Lotus Lounge in Durham, formerly the Boat House.
