A special list of cocktails with Tanqueray No Ten gin has been created at Oblix on the 32nd floor of The Shard in London to tie in with its bar being transformed into a festive treehouse.
The Oblix East bar and dining area now features a twisted tree trunk with fairy lights and trinkets including a telescope to allow guests to take in London’s night sky as well as a wall of botanical infusions using the super-premium gin.
A specially curated menu, created by Oblix East bar manager Aaron Masonde, draws inspiration from the treehouse and the gin’s citrus botanicals, with drinks such as The Firefly made with lime and lemongrass to complement the grapefruit flavours in the gin, alongside sparkling wine and a luminous foam.
A tangled tree branch effect adorns the Treetops Club cocktail, which combines Tanqueray No Ten with lemon, blackcurrant and egg white.
The Oblix Tanqueray No Ten Treehouse, developed with the brand’s owner Diageo Reserve, will run until December 27.
On Saturday December 2, it will host a ticketed late-night party where treehouse-inspired cocktails will be paired with canapé-style bar snacks from the Oblix East restaurant’s kitchen. Diageo Reserve World Class UK Bartender of the Year Jamie Jones is also hosting a bar takeover on the night.
