Bars and clubs stay cool by adding alcoholic popsicles

Alcoholic popsicles are popping up on menus this summer, from Novus Leisure’s Tiger Tiger venues to some of London’s top bars and clubs.

Three different flavours have been introduced at Novus Leisure’s 45 sites across the UK, including Tiger Tiger and late-night London bars. At £4 each, they are hand made with all-natural, high-quality products supplied by Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands.

The Popsicles (pictured above) include a classic Mojito, bursting with Bacardi rum and fresh lime, and a Gin and Tonic, made with Bombay Sapphire Gin, tonic water and cucumber. The third is a revitalising combination of Grey Goose vodka, lime and soda.

Sorrel Ward, head of marketing at Novus Leisure, said: “Novus Leisure is dedicated to offering customers an exceptional experience and variety, and these are sure to be a real talking point. With our new and exclusive summer Popsicle range, available in well-loved flavours, customers can cool down in style.”

At the independent brasserie and bar Mews of Mayfair in London, Prosecco Pops have been introduced, made with real prosecco as opposed to flavouring. They are priced at £7 each.

Other bars and clubs as well as Young’s pub group Geronimo Inns are offering premium ice popsicles Pops (pictured below) which debuted last summer with the launch of a champagne popsicle at 4.3% ABV.

For this summer, Pops has added a Bellini popsicle, at 3.8% ABV, made with half a glass of prosecco, peach schnapps, blood orange juice and hibiscus flowers.

Also new are two non-alcoholic Pops made with real fruit: Strawberry & Mint and Apple & Elderflower.

Bars, restaurants and pubs offering Pops include Baffi Pizza in Bournemouth and, in London, Bunga Bunga in Battersea, The Parlour in Canary Wharf, Boujis in South Kensington, Lucky Voice in Soho, The Ivy Chelsea Gardens and Vintage Salt at Selfridges.
