Bars, pubs and restaurants are being urged to help celebrate World Nutella Day, backed by promotional offers.

Brand owner Ferrero has declared this Friday, February 5, as the international day of celebration for the Italian spread which is promoted as an ingredient for breakfasts.

Through its website,, Ferrero is offering recipe ideas as well as offering caterers the chance to claim one of 20 limited-edition packs which include a 3kg tub of Nutella.

It follows last month’s launch of the Nutella Breakfast Club, created to support caterers looking to target consumers who eat breakfast out of the home.

Natasha Quinn, foodservice channel operations manager at Ferrero, said: “Our own research, as well as the fact that Nutella is celebrated on a global scale with World Nutella Day, shows there is a huge demand for our best-selling spread, especially as part of the breakfast offering.

“The day is a real indication just how popular Nutella is. The launch of the club is just the beginning and we’ll be supporting our valued customers with a whole host of activity to help caterers update their dishes and set them apart from the competition – so watch this space.”

Nutella’s dedicated foodservice range includes a 15g single-serve portion pack for breakfast buffets, premium mini jars suitable for hotels and coffee shops, and a 3kg tub for use back of house.
