Now in its third year, the programme will feature tastings, masterclasses, special cocktails, food and drink pairings and other events from October 17 to 23.

It is sponsored by Père Magloire, a leading calvados brand distributed in the UK by Emporia Brands. Its partner this year will be Fever-Tree, promoting the signature serve of calvados and tonic garnished with an apple slice.

In Edinburgh, participating bars and restaurants include Heads & Tales, The Voodoo Rooms, 56 North, The Blue Blazer, Kilderkin, Paradise Palms, The Bon Vivant, The Blackbird, The Espy, The Beer Kitchen, Hoot the Redeemer, Dine with Stuart Muir, Wee Buddha, The Windsor Buffet, Villager, Element, Seasons and Bryant & Mack.

La Petite Mort in Edinburgh will offer the Apple Cart Porthole (pictured) throughout the week, made with Père Magloire VSOP, maraschino liqueur, triple sec and lemon juice with orange, apple and cherry – with enough for two to share.
