Bars, pubs and restaurants across the UK are getting ready to take part in World Gin Day in June, supported by a new website.
Taking place on Saturday June 9, it is set to be the biggest World Gin Day ever, including special events taking place on the weeks before and after the big day. This year, it includes the first-ever World Gin Day London festival organised with DrinkUp.London, the team behind London Cocktail Week.
Bars with events already featured on WorldGinDay.com include Blind Tyger in Leeds which is running a weekend-long event, Gin & Tea, with special cocktails made with Tanqueray No Ten, Jinzu and Tanqueray Export.
The IronWorks bar in Warwick is showcasing its gin list with a range of “Grand Gins” for tasting from June 6 to 10 and developing a new gin and tonic mix that will be revealed on World Gin Day itself.
The Brown Cow in Louth in Lincolnshire is relaunching its gin menu with a day-long event, Cow’s Ruined 2018, on June 9, with 20 gins and new cocktails to try along with live music.
Any bar, pub or restaurant can get listed on the World Gin Day website for free, from tastings and parties to promotions and special menus. Submit all the information at https://worldginday.com/add-listing/.
Bars can also increase reach for social media about their activities by using the hashtag, #WorldGinDay.
World Gin Day is an independently owned celebration run by Emma Stokes, aka Gin Monkey, and is now in its 10th year. It coincides with other events including the Junipalooza festival in London on June 9 and 10 and World Gin Day Oxford organised by The Gin To My Tonic at Oxford Castle Unlocked on June 9.
