Bars are ready for the return of London Beer Week this month, helping people to discover and explore beers from brewers both new and old.
Returning for a fourth year from March 12 to 18, it will involve 75 of the capital’s bars which will be offering £5 beer flights or boilermakers to pass holders.
The week-long celebration has gone digital this year, with the £10 festival passes delivered via an app that organiser DrinkUp London debuted at London Cocktail Week last October.
Replacing the previous wristbands, the app allows you to buy your festival pass as well as tickets for other London Beer Week events. All the tickets are stored in a digital wallet without the need for print-outs. Passes can also be bought online.
The app, which is free to download, also allows you to create your own unique London Beer Week schedule from events throughout the week.
It also provides an interactive map showing all the bars participating in the festival and their offers based on your precise location.
As well as the self-guided Beer Tours, events will include beer-pairing dinners, brewery tours, launch parties and in-bar promotions run by beer brands of all sizes.
Festival director Ali Dedianko said: “We are glad to be taking London Beer Week back to its roots by celebrating the incredible venues that make London one of the world’s truly great beer-drinking cities.
“Dozens of new breweries have opened their doors around the capital this year and there has never been a more exciting time to be celebrating beer.”
