Bars set to come together for new Leeds Cocktail Experience

Elixir of Life Tattu Jinzu

Some of the best cocktails that Leeds has to offer will be available under one roof when 16 of the city’s bars and restaurants come together for The Leeds Cocktail Experience.

After its second outing in March this year, the event is back on Friday October 20, taking over two floors of Aspire in Infirmary Street. Each of the bars has teamed up with a different spirits brand to offer cocktails served by expert bartenders.

Jake’s Bar is partnering Grey Goose vodka to create the cheeky Perci Pig Juice, while The Maven will offer The South Pacific with Ketel One vodka, and Oracle has invented the melon and Bacardi-fuelled Alice’s Adventures. Vice & Virtue has teamed up with The Botanist gin to create the pink If Islay Here (pictured below)

Newcomers include restaurant and bar Tattu, which opened this summer, bringing an Asian-inspired creation called The Elixir of Life (pictured top) with Jinzu Gin to The Leeds Cocktail Experience. D&D’s new rooftop restaurant and bar East 59 will be adding a New York City flavour to the party with its Cîroc vodka collaboration, The Midtown.

Also taking inspiration from New York will be Neighbourhood, which opened in Greek Street only last month. It has joined forces with Tanqueray No Ten gin to produce the pretty pink Cute AF cocktail.

Living Ventures will also be making waves on the night, with the opulence of The Alchemist and the dive-bar party vibes of Red Door both on the bill. Others will include Revolución de Cuba, The Botanist, Bar Soba and Mans Market.

To accompany the drinking, top DJs will provide an eclectic mix of floor-filling tracks. A VIP lounge will be hosted by another luxurious D&D destination, Angelica.

The event has been put together by marketing and PR specialists Hairy Lemon and Pink Gorilla. Jordan Odu, director of Pink Gorilla, says: “After a blistering 2016 of Leeds launches and our very own sell-out event in March, we wondered how we’d top it, but Leeds has smashed it in 2017 and is now rivalling Manchester as the country’s premier party city.

“We’re delighted to see the return of the city’s most established brands, as well as newcomers such as Red Door, Tattu and East 59. We’ve always focused on the party aspect of our events to ensure the night is as much about having fun as it is showcasing the biggest and best cocktail bars Leeds has to offer. I’m confident this will be our best night to date and is a great way to kick off the party season in style.”

Early-bird tickets are available until October 10, priced at £15 plus booking fee, which includes two cocktails.
