Three bartenders are through to the final of TGI Fridays’ annual mixology competition, each hoping their cocktail will be the restaurants’ biggest seller.
Drinks created by Alex Seeley from Manchester, Katy Sharpe from Leicester and Jack Shelton from Enfield in London – all using Southern Comfort – were selected as finalists in the nationwide contest.
Their cocktails are now on the menus at TGI Fridays across the country until August 13. The overall winner will be picked based on the number of their cocktails sold and will feature permanently on TGI Fridays’ cocktail menu from September.
Pictured left, Alex Seeley’s New Orleans Nectar is a mix of Southern Comfort, cherry brandy and amaretto paired with a zesty sweet and sour mixer, finished off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Katy Sharpe’s Wonderland Comfort combines passion fruit juice with Southern Comfort alongside a fruity mix of apple, raspberry and cranberry.
Jack Shelton’s Mardi Gras is a combination of Southern Comfort with dark cacao, vanilla ice cream and cherry syrup.
Terry McDowell, head of food and drink at TGI Fridays, said: “We had a huge number of amazing entries from our bartenders, and it was a tough challenge to pick only three to be in the final. We hope that our guests enjoy the cocktails created by our three finalists, and I’m looking forward to seeing who wins this exciting competition.”
