Bartenders from around world create new Fairmont menu

From The Savoy in London to The Plaza in New York City, top bartenders from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts have come together to create a new global cocktail menu.

The team (pictured), who include Erik Lorincz from The American Bar at The Savoy, have taken on the new roles of “Fairmont Tastemakers” to share expertise as part of a two-year programme.

The other bartenders are Grant Sceney from Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, Nader Chabaane from Fairmont Le Château in Québec, and Tom Hogan from Fairmont Singapore.

The menu, which was launched at The Savoy this week, features three sections: the most requested classics that guests know and love, revived classics to entice cocktail enthusiasts, and the “neats” for those who wish to savour the programme’s carefully selected spirit partners.

The new creations were developed in partnership with Kathy Casey at her Liquid Kitchen Food Studios. They will be rolled out globally to other Fairmont hotels from November 23.

Jane Mackie, vice president for Fairmont Brand, explained: “When people ‘meet for a drink’ at one of our hotels – from The American Bar at The Savoy to The Plaza in New York – they expect the crispest gin and tonic and a truly perfect Manhattan.

“With this new menu that is precisely what they will get – along with quality ice and bartender’s advice when appropriate.

“The Classics. Perfected. menu was curated by our top bartenders who were charged with helping us to discover and perfect the best old and new classics.

“This is much bigger than a new menu. It is about shaping and sharing Fairmont cocktail culture with our neighbours and visiting guests in over 20 countries.”

Global spirits included in the programme include Rémy Martin VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac, Belvedere Vodka, The Botanist Islay Dry Gin, Bombay Sapphire gin, Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey, Woodford Reserve Distillers Select whiskey, Cointreau liqueur, Mount Gay Rum, Casamigos Tequila and Louis XIII cognac plus Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label.

Cocktails will be served in beautifully crafted Schott Zwiesel crystal glassware, distributed by global partner Fortessa.

Alexandra Blum, vice president for public relations and partnerships at FRHI Hotels & Resorts, added: “We are incredibly proud of the group of partners involved in Fairmont’s new cocktail programme. Each brand was hand selected for its outstanding quality and global appeal.

“We are so pleased to see that this careful curation in partnership with our hand-selected Fairmont Tastemakers, has resulted in a world-class offering for both the trend-setting and discerning.”
