Bassoon cocktails trumpet London Fashion Week

Savile Row cocktailLondon Fashion Week is being celebrated with a special cocktail list created by Mario la Pietra, head bartender at Bassoon Bar at London’s Corinthia Hotel.

After the success of its London Cocktail Collection for London Fashion Week in February, the bar is reviving the list to tie in with next month’s catwalk shows and fashion industry parties.

They include The Savile Row Stitch-Up (pictured), made with Dewars 12 Year Old Special Reserve whisky stirred with Lustau East India sherry, Pierre Ferrand Dry orange curaçao and the bar’s own grenadine syrup.

The Bond Street Bespoke combines Amaro Averna with fresh raspberries, caster sugar, fresh lemon and bitters, while the Somerset Sling – named after Somerset House where London Fashion Week is based – is a mix of Hendricks’s gin, fresh lemon juice, lychee juice, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur and The Bitter Truth Crème de Violette liqueur.

The Kings Road Kick – previously called the Sloaney Pony in February – brings together Grey Goose La Poire vodka with St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and fresh pomegranate seeds.

The East London Spice has changed its name to The Shoreditch Spice, combining 42 Below vodka with The King’s Ginger liqueur, lime juice and orange bitters, lengthened with ginger beer.

Cocktails from The London Collection will cost £16 and will be available from September 13 to 17.
