Belgian organic craft beer range introduced to UK

Van Bulck Belgian Organic Craft Beers

A range of Belgian organic craft beers has been introduced to the UK through a new partnership with importer and distributor Love Drinks.

Van Bulck Belgian Organic Craft Beers were created two years ago by Denis Renty, who has over 20 years’ experience in the food and drink industry, working with a brewery that dates back to 1830.

They are based on an old family recipe which has been adapted to suit the palate of today’s beer drinker. As well as being brewed to be refreshing by themselves, the beers were also created to complement a range of dishes, both sweet and savoury.

There are three beers in the range, which are available in traditional Belgian-style 330ml bottles.

Van Bulck Gluten Free Organic Lager, at 4.5% ABV, is a light, clean beer with a light honey and walnut aftertaste. It is brewed using gluten-free organic barley malt, resulting in a light and balanced flavour.

Van Bulck Organic Blonde Beer, at 4.6% ABV, is unfiltered and fermented in the bottle. It is brewed using a unique combination of three different grains: barley, wheat and spelt. The beer has a pronounced aroma of green fruits with hints of liquorice and dried apricots with a smooth, bittersweet aftertaste delivered by the spelt and wheat.

Van Bulck Organic Wild Fruit Beer, at 4.7% ABV, is made with seven different fruits: cherries, pomegranate, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, grapefruit and blackberries. Reminiscent of traditional jam, the beer delivers an explosion of red fruits but without lots of sweetness.

Kirsty Loveday, managing directgor of Love Drinks, said: “The introduction of Van Bulck Belgian Organic Craft Beers is a fantastic addition to our existing portfolio and we’re delighted to be offering our customers a range of organic lagers that includes a gluten-free choice.

“Increasingly, we are seeing that more and more people are choosing to abstain from gluten in their diet, but with the introduction of gluten-free lagers such as Van Bulck, they can still choose to drink great-quality beer without fear of compromise.”

Love Drinks’ portfolio also includes Einstök, the Icelandic craft beer range which is brewed 60 miles from the Arctic Circle.
