Belvedere celebrates the Martini for London Cocktail Week

london cocktail week logoA pop-up bar is being launched for Belvedere Vodka for London Cocktail Week, offering consumers a chance to find out about the Martini.

Running from Monday October 7 to Sunday October 13, the Belvedere Martini Bar will host a number of master classes at its venue in 38 Earlham Street in Seven Dials, Covent Garden.

The sessions will be led by brand ambassador Ali Dedianko plus guest bartenders such as Tristan Stephenson, co-founder of London bars Purl and Worship Street Whistling Shop and author of new book The Curious Bartender.

They will include a master class designed specifically for the trade on Friday October 11 from 2pm to 3pm.

Claire Smith head of spirit creation and mixology at Belvedere, said: “We wanted to educate consumers about the Martini, as many are afraid to order it due to a lack of knowledge about the drink.

“The Martini master classes aim to help consumers discover which Martini suits them best. Whether it be pure, unfiltered with an olive, or with a twist of grapefruit, the classes will equip them with the knowledge to go away and order their perfect Martini.”

Creating the heritage of the Martini, the ambience of the pop-up will be “rustic but classic” with a simple concrete-topped bar and a metal mesh frontage. Guests will be treated to a number of signature Martinis such as the Classic Belvedere Martini and a new serve called the Mont Blanc Martini.

The Martini is one of history’s most iconic cocktails, developing from a vermouth-heavy drink in the 1860s made with gin, through the “shaken not stirred” Bond era, into the “tini” craze of the 1980s and 1990s.

Distilled across four columns to achieve the best balance between purity and character, Belvedere Vodka is promoted as the perfect choice for a Martini, whether enjoyed wet, on the rocks or bone dry with a grapefruit twist.

The pop-up bar will be open every day from 1pm to 11pm, with consumer master classes taking place Monday to Friday from 7pm to 8pm, on Saturday from 3pm to 4pm and from 5pm to 6pm and on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm. The price for consumers is £20 per session.
