Belvedere Vodka champions Espresso Martini with new pop-up

Mr Black Belvedere Espresso Martinis

Belvedere Vodka is to reveal a new serve that claims to be the fastest Espresso Martini as part of a pop-up celebrating the modern classic cocktail.

Café Belvedere will run from February 15 to 18 at 15 Bateman Street in London’s West End to tie in with London Fashion Week, designed as a premium, industrial-style coffee shop serving only Espresso Martinis.

It is in the heart of Soho where legendary bartender Dick Bradsell first created the vodka-and-coffee recipe in the 1980s.

Belvedere will preview the new Belvedere Espress (pictured below), described as the “fastest Espresso Martini serve”, using a vintage-inspired syphon and designed to be enjoyed and shared with six friends.

The pop-up’s menu has been developed with bartender Martin Hudak, senior bartender at The American Bar at The Savoy in London, who won last year’s Coffee in Good Spirits competition which seeks the best cocktails made with coffee.

The three drinks on offer will include Martin’s twist on a classic coffee-based cocktail using Belvedere slowly infused with fresh mint or ice-cold Colombian brew coffee.

Martin said: “The Espresso Martini is one of the most popular cocktails in the UK at the moment, with the coffee and spirit world growing closer together in their purity and quality. Now is the ideal time to push the boundaries of coffee cocktails, creating something brand new and exciting.

“I have experimented with coffee in all forms, espresso to cold press, blending the natural character of Belvedere vodka with quality ingredients to showcase three new and unique coffee cocktails at Café Belvedere.”

Belvedere is also partnering with Mr Black Cold Press Coffee Liqueur and Over Under which operates two coffee shops in Soho and Earl’s Court, London, working with Brixton roaster Assembly Coffee.

Belvedere-branded tuk tuks will be shuttling guests around the Soho area throughout London Fashion Week, ensuring journalists and other fashion show-goers get to their destinations on time and can also refuel at Café Belvedere.

The pop-up will be open from 1pm to 9.30pm on all three days.

In December, the brand collaborated with London restaurant Gaucho Broadgate to create the pop-up Belvedere Espresso Martini Lounge, working with Gaucho’s beverage director Dan Munt.
